About the District

Uttara Kannada is one of the biggest districts of Karnataka state. District Head Quarters is Karwar, which is known as Kashmir of Karnataka. Karwar is blessed with a wide variety of flora and fauna. Karwar is well connected to prominent cities in India including Mumbai, Delhi and Mangalore through the Konkan Railway. The district is blessed with Pristine beaches & beautiful Western Ghats. Uttara Kannada District receives heavy rainfall during monsoon period. The main tribes of the district are Sidhi, Kunabi, Halakki Vokkaliga, Gonda and Gouli. read more

VIBHUTI FALLS

Vibhooti is a small waterfall near Yana,about 50kms from Sirsi North Kanara,Western Ghats. Falls gets its name from the Lime Stone rock nearby. After we pass the Vaddi Ghats we need to take a deviation at a place called Mabagi which is about 3kms from the falls. Other places of interest would be Yana, Unchalli, Benne hole falls.

MURDESHWAR

The picturesque Murdeshwar town situated 16 Kms from Bhatkal has a gorgeous temple perched on the hillock by the shore. The sea is an intrinsic part of the temple scape at Murdeshwara. The sea surronds the temple towering on a small hill called Kanduka Giri on three sides. Two life size elephants concrete stand guard at the steps leading to the temple.

Dandeli Sanctuary 

The sanctuary at Dandeli surrounded by the river Kali is a rare treat for the wild life buffs. Throbbing with rare birds, tigers, elephants, deer, bisons, sambars, a crocodile camp and a variety of other fauna of the Ghats, provides a refreshing holiday. This sanctuary is the second largest wildlife sanctuary of Karnataka

Located amongest the ever green forest of the Sahayadri mountains. Yana caves are paradise of Limestone rocks. Famous for it's unique, black crystalline limestone rocks. Om Beach

Om Beach is shaped as two semi crescents joined together forming the shape of Om (Hindu Symbol) hence the name Om beach. This is the most famous beach in Gokarna.Apart from Om beach, Gokarna is also home to Kudle, Hall-moon and  paradise beaches which are counted among the most beautiful beaches.

Marikamba temple

The Marikamba Temple in Sirsi, Karnataka, India, is a Hindu temple dedicated to a form of the goddess Durga. The temple constructed in 1688 A.C.
